"The Earth Has a History"
Learn how Earth’s landscapes and life forms have changed throughout Geological History and how those changes have impacted the landscape.
There will be programs and activities for young and old, school groups, Scouts, youth organizations, information stations for the public, and everyone interested in the Earth Sciences. Everyone will have the opportunity to do rock, fossil, and mineral collecting with the Gem and Mineral Society, do a Geology Tour of the Quarry, and many other programs.
Program participants and presentations include University of Northern Iowa Earth Science Department, Iowa Geological Survey, Mid-America Paleontological Society, Iowa Learning Farms Conservation Station, Tallgrass Prairie Center, Black Hawk County Soil and Water Conservation Watershed Program, Black Hawk Gem and Mineral Society, City of Waterloo, Iowa Flood Center, Middle Cedar Watershed Group, , and many more.
